Motivation für die Niederlassung als Proktologe in München 2012 war der Gedanke, in einem kleinen Gebiet große Kompetenz zu zeigen. In der oft vernachlässigten Fistel- und Analchirurgie will ich nicht weniger als die beste Therapie anbieten. Die Basis meiner Tätigkeit als Proktologe war die Weiterbildung bei Prof. Thorolf Hager, Gründungsmitglied der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Koloproktologie, und Schriftleiter der Fachzeitschrift „coloproctology“. Zahlreiche Fortbildungen, Teilnahmen an Kongressen und Hospitationen, unter anderem am renommierten St. Marks – Hospital in London, lieferten die weiteren Bausteine eines eigenen Therapiekonzepts.

Conservative consultation
Dr. Schuster has been working as a surgeon since 1992 and has strengthened our medical team since 2018. As the good soul of our conservative consultation hours, she is particularly experienced in proctological diagnostics and all non-surgical treatment options for hemorrhoids, anal fistulas, anal fissures, as well as in optimizing the pelvic floor and digestion. In addition to the established methods, she also knows many a home remedy and can give you useful advice on nutrition. In many cases, this eliminates the need for surgery.
Should an operation nevertheless be necessary, Dr. Schuster will of course refer you to the operating specialists Hofer and Liebl.
Development of the Pilonidal Sinus Center
In 1996, during my residency training as an assistant physician at the University Hospital in Mainz, I performed my very first operation - coincidentally, the conventional removal of a pilonidal sinus, which is quite unjustifiably considered a beginner's operation in many hospitals. In 2004, as one of the first surgeons in Germany, I entered completely new territory with pit picking operations in Starnberg. A colleague who had himself been affected by a Pilonidal Sinus initiated a process of rethinking with his descriptions of the long and painful healing process. In an exchange with the pit-picking pioneer John Bascom from the USA, I developed our now successful surgical method. With over 6500 operations performed, we have among the greatest experience in this technique among proctologists in Germany.
